Kylee’s Kitchen: Maple Nut Granola

When it comes to breakfast, nothing is more popular around here than Kylee’s homemade granola with fresh raw milk. Made from only five simple ingredients, including our homegrown maple syrup, this is a filling and delicious breakfast packed with whole grain goodness. Granola is an easy to make replacement for sugary cereals and a perfect project for even small hands. Feel free to substitute another dried fruit, nut, oil, or natural sweetener based on your family’s preference! When substituting honey, Kylee uses half the amount.

How To Make Granola

Ingredients: Oats, Pecans, Raisins, Coconut Oil, Maple Syrup

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Measure 15 cups oats and put in a large mixing bowl.

  3. Chop at least two cups of pecans and mix with oats.

  4. Melt 1 cup coconut oil, mix with 1 cup maple syrup.

  5. Mix the coconut oil and maple syrup with the oats and pecans.

  6. Spread uncooked granola onto two un greased baking sheets.

  7. Put into preheated oven, and bake until golden brown, stirring frequently.

  8. After removing from oven, mix in at least 1 cup of raisins per pan.

  9. Let cool for at least 3 hours before storing in an air tight container.

Makes 1 gallon of granola.

Kylee sells granola seasonally at the Rushford Peterson Valley Farmer’s Market held in Rushford, Minnesota from May-October and by custom order throughout the year. Her granola is made under a Cottage Food License and is not subject to state inspection. Because of this, it also cannot be shipped. We may have a limited amount of fresh maple syrup available this year as well.
